JOB DESCRIPTION

• Shape Technology Strategy & Enterprise Architecture – Develop and drive SDE’s technology strategy, roadmap and enterprise architecture in alignment with organisational objectives and future needs. Advise Senior Management on technology opportunities, investments, emerging trends and technology-related risks.
• Lead Digital Transformation & Innovation – Drive digital transformation initiatives that leverage technology, automation, AI and data to improve productivity, organisational effectiveness, user experience and customer engagement. Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to enhance SDE’s creative, operational and commercial capabilities.
• Lead Enterprise Technology Operations – Oversee IT operations, infrastructure, networks, cloud environments, enterprise applications and technology platforms, ensuring they remain secure, reliable, resilient, scalable and fit for purpose.
• Strengthen Cybersecurity, Risk & Resilience – Provide strategic leadership for cybersecurity, information security and technology risk management. Establish appropriate policies, standards and controls, and oversee business continuity, disaster recovery and incident readiness.
• Enable AI, Data & Digital Capabilities – Establish and drive appropriate AI, data and digital governance frameworks to support responsible AI adoption and effective use of organisational data. Oversee data and analytics capabilities that support business planning, product development and decision-making.
• Lead Digital Products, Platforms & Integration – Oversee the design, implementation and optimisation of digital products and platforms, including websites, mobile applications, customer engagement platforms and enterprise solutions. Establish architectural and integration standards to ensure interoperability, scalability and long-term sustainability.
• Enable Media & Production Technology – Partner with business and production teams to provide technology expertise and solutions supporting SDE’s media and production environment, including video and audio production, radio, broadcasting, live streaming, digital asset management and live engagement.
• Partner the Business & Deliver Strategic Programmes – Understand organisational and business needs and translate them into practical, sustainable technology solutions. Lead strategic technology programmes and transformation projects, ensuring effective delivery, stakeholder alignment and realisation of business benefits.
• Manage Technology Investments & Partnerships – Manage technology budgets, procurement, vendors and strategic partnerships, ensuring investments deliver strategic value, cost effectiveness, service quality and appropriate risk management.
• Lead & Develop the Technology Team – Build a high-performing, collaborative, customer-centric and forward-looking Technology and Platform Solutions team. Drive capability development, coaching, succession planning and opportunities for professional growth.
• Champion Technology Culture & External Engagement – Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, security awareness and operational excellence across the organisation. Represent SDE in engagements with technology partners, industry bodies, government agencies and other external stakeholders where required.

REQUIREMENTS

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent professional qualifications and experience.
• 10-15 years of relevant experience, with strong exposure to IT operations, infrastructure, cloud technologies, enterprise applications, cybersecurity and technology transformation.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing technology teams.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity, information security and technology risk management at an enterprise level.
• Good understanding of modern cloud architecture, applications, infrastructure and data technologies.
• An appreciation of AI and emerging technologies, including their opportunities, risks and governance considerations.
• Experience leading technology projects and managing external vendors and service providers.
• Strong analytical, stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technology considerations for different audiences.
• Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience supporting technology-intensive media, content, production or digital environments would be an advantage.

We are seeking a creative 2D Motion Designer to join our team at So Drama! Entertainment. In this role, you will create explainer-style and narrative-driven animation content for social media platforms.

With a strong eye for design and storytelling, you will translate ideas, scripts, and briefs into visual content – from illustration and character design to animation and final edit.

You will work across the full production pipeline, delivering high-quality output from start to finish using both creative and AI-assisted workflows.

This role is suited for a multi-skilled creative who is strong in animation and illustration, passionate in creating impactful visual stories, and thrives in a fast-paced working environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

a. 2D Animation & Motion Graphics

• Create high-quality 2D animations and motion graphics for digital content, including explainer-style videos and social media formats.
• Translate scripts, storyboards, and creative briefs into engaging animated visuals with strong storytelling.
• Apply motion design, transitions, and visual effects to enhance overall content quality and audience experience.
  

b. Illustration & Asset Creation

• Develop original illustrated assets, including characters, environments, and graphic elements.
• Adapt illustration styles to suit different content formats, brands, and target audiences.
• Ensure consistency in visual identity, style, and quality across all deliverables.
  

c. Video Editing & Post-Production

• Edit content to integrate animation, graphics, audio, and footage seamlessly into a cohesive video.
• Optimise content formats for different platforms and delivery requirements.
  

d. Content Development & Execution

• Collaborate with producers/writers/content strategists to develop visual storytelling approaches.
• Contribute to ideation and development of engaging content.
  

e. Voice-over Support (Optional)

• Ability to create voice-over recordings for video projects is a plus but not required.

CHALLENGES

• Ability to manage and deliver high-quality animation output under fast production cycle and tight deadlines is critical.
• You will handle multiple stages of production, including illustration, animation, and editing.

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Motion Design, Digital Fine Arts, Multimedia & Animation, or related fields, or equivalent practical experience and strong portfolio
• Proven experience in illustration, 2D animation/motion graphics and video editing
• Strong portfolio/reel showcasing illustration, 2D animation/motion graphics, and video products
• Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop and Adobe Animate

You are responsible for planning, researching, creating, producing, and presenting video content for various social media channels to help So Drama! Entertainment (SDE) and its key clients engage stakeholders and the general public. You create wide-ranging video content which includes news videos, short films, documentaries, web series, reality series, and corporate videos.

You are responsible for all aspects of a video production. This includes overseeing concept development and scripting, filming, hosting, editing, and audio balancing. You should constantly source for interesting and relevant topics for video production, and actively seek out opportunities that can be translated into effective video content for various platforms.

One of your main responsibilities will be to cover local and overseas events and produce event coverage, profile or feature videos, with complementary social media content for digital platforms. In support of this, you need to be comfortable appearing on-camera and hosting productions. You also have to be ready to be deployed locally around Singapore as well as for overseas for shoots when required.

You will have to work with constraints during planning and make adjustments for on-site shoots and during post-production editing. When required, you may need to produce fast cycle video content for social media as a one-man-operator. You will also have to produce videos to support digital crisis communication and incident response efforts when needed.

You are expected to stay updated and be on the constant lookout for new technologies, platforms, software, and new methods of content creation. You would need to be comfortable experimenting, trialing and adopting new tools and technologies as part of your work. Your challenge lies in understanding audiences and adapting video productions in accordance with evolving trends and audience interests.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Degree (honours or merit), preferably in the field of communications or a relevant domain, majoring in broadcast journalism or film/video production
• Polytechnic diploma holders with a strong interest in current affairs and experience in film/video production will also be considered
• Those with 2 or more years of relevant work experience would have an advantage, including experience producing a range of video content such as light-hearted, humorous, serious content, as well as long-form and short-form content for various platforms
• Excellent command of English; ability to speak and articulate well with a passion for storytelling, a good eye for visuals and attention to detail

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Senior Technician (Lighting) to join So Drama! Entertainment’s Music and Drama Company (MDC).

You will be responsible for the technical execution of lighting systems for live events and productions from pre-production planning through to live show operations and post-production. This includes developing lighting plots, programming and operating lighting consoles, overseeing lighting setup, rigging and power distribution, troubleshooting technical issues, managing lighting inventory, administrative and logistical tasks while ensuring that all works are executed in accordance to health and safety regulations.

As a senior technician, you will supervise the lighting crew, coordinate with Producers and other technical disciplines to ensure that lighting requirements are implemented accurately and effectively. You will also support equipment planning, adapt to venue rigging conditions and prepare technical documentation where necessary.

The role will also serve as a Technical Coordinator for assigned shows and events, overseeing general technical operations and coordinating across lighting, audio and video teams for successful delivery of productions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Project and Technical Planning with Client Liaison

• Execute technical duties for shows and event, as well as other assignments or initiatives assigned by Management.

• Work with the Producer, Production Coordinator and Show Production team to understand show requirements and provide technical advice and support with documentation.

• Assist the Technical Supervisor or managers with event planning and manpower scheduling and attend site recces to assess power requirements, technical feasibility and infrastructure.

• Coordinate with other technical teams to identify and integrate technical requirements.

• Provide estimates of technical manpower, equipment and task durations to support production planning

B. Pre-production Operations

• Coordinate with the Technical Supervisor or managers, Producer, and other technical teams to confirm and integrate lighting requirements.

• Lead the setup and rigging of lighting equipment, ensuring fixtures, cables and controllers are in working order.

• Allocate work and train Technicians and junior crew according to their skill sets and the lighting plan.

• Assist with technical preparation, including creating, editing lighting cue stacks and administrative work

• Assist with or oversee the packing and loading of equipment for transportation to the event venue.

C. Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting

• Identify and resolve issues involving lighting fixtures, cables and control systems and other associated equipment during setup, rehearsals and live events.

• Conduct routine checks and safety tests to ensure lighting equipment are functioning safely and as intended.

• Escalate technical faults that require attention and coordinate with external vendors for repair where required.

• Regular inspection and maintain lighting equipment to ensure it remains in good working condition and coordinate with external vendors for repair.

D. Production Operations

• Provide on-site technical support to ensure lighting systems operate smoothly during events.

• Manage last-minute adjustments and troubleshoot technical issues during live performances.

• Communicate effectively with the lighting crew and other technical personnel.

• Program lighting consoles to create cues, effects and transitions according to event requirements.

• Follow cue and timing instructions from the Show Caller or Producer during rehearsals and live events.

E. Post-production Operations

• Safely dismantle, pack and account for lighting equipment after each event, identifying any missing or  damaged items.

• Provide feedback on lighting setups and recommend improvements for future events.

• Maintain records of equipment used, lighting setups and troubleshooting actions for reference and quality control.

F. Technical Documentation

• Develop lighting plots using 3D design software and prepare supporting documents, including construction plans, fixture placement and cable-routing information.

• Assist in maintaining inventory records for lighting equipment and accessories.

• Report equipment issues and incidents to the Technical Supervisor.

• Coordinate with external vendors for repair and maintenance and archive records.

G. Workplace Safety and Crew Supervision

• Lead safety briefings and ensure lighting setup and production activities comply with safety standards.

• Identify and report hazards, assess and control risks, and manage emergencies according to established procedures.

• Follow safety protocols for rigging, electrical systems and equipment handling.

• Assign work according to skill sets and the production plan, and monitor Technicians, junior crew and Interns to ensure quality, safety and technical standards are met.

CHALLENGES

• The role requires the Senior Technician to manage lighting operations across the full production lifecycle from planning, preparation to live production and post-production while coordinating closely with Producers and the other technical disciplines.

• The Senior Technician must respond effectively to last-minute adjustments and technical issues during live productions, adapt to different venues conditions, infrastructure and technical requirements.

• The role also involves working at heights, operating elevated work platforms, handling rigging and electrical systems, and ensuring that supervised personnel consistently meet the required quality, safety and technical standards.

• The Senior Technician must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with both internal and external stakeholders while managing assigned tasks and resolving operational issues.

• The role may also include secondary responsibilities outside of lighting operations, as part of the wider scope of the Show Production department. These may include logistical, safety, operational, and administrative tasks where required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the Audio, Visual and Lighting industry, including at least 2 years in a full-time technical role.

• Minimum of Higher Nitec or Diploma Certification in relevant technical or related discipline.

• Ability to lead the technical execution of lighting systems and serve as Technical Coordinator for live events and productions.

• Strong competency in programming and operating lighting consoles, including the creation and execution of cues, effects and transitions.

• Knowledge of lighting equipment and technology, electrical systems, networking, data distribution, and rigging systems.

• Ability to troubleshoot lighting fixtures, cables and control systems during setup, rehearsals and live productions.

• Ability to develop and design lighting plots using 3D design software and prepare supporting technical  documentation, including fixture placement and cable-routing plans.

• Knowledge and application of Workplace Safety and Health requirements, equipment safety  procedures, emergency-response practices and competency with working-at-height.

• Ability to plan and coordinate technical operations, work effectively with Producers and other technical disciplines, and supervise Technicians, junior crew and Interns.
